  • Initially started as a network of few organisation has grown over the years and presently 6000 anti child labour group, active women groups, trade unions, academic institutions, media agencies, child right and human right organisation, research bodies, corporate houses, student volunteers and eminent citizens constitute an integral part of the campaign.

  • Focused campaign for Freeing the Girl Children from Labour 2003-2005 being observed as Freeing the Girl Child Labour Year.

  • Right to Education as a Fundamental Right for all the children - advocacy at different levels.

  • Creating demand at the community level - Grassrootisation of the Campaign.

  • Advocacy for pro-child policies and its effective implementation.

  • Monitoring of International Human Rights Instruments.

  • CACL Focus on - Popularizing the UN convention and various conventions of ILO pertaining to child labour.  

  • Making governance system responsive to the issues of child labour  and child rights.

  • Highlighting the issues relating to child labour through Public Hearing, National Conventions.

  • Legal interventions through PIL / Judiciary interventions in specific child right violation cases, sensitisation of legal professionals.

  • Creation of  awareness on the eradication of child labour.

  • Building public opinion

  • Capacity building of all stake holders.

  • Alliance building with other like minded groups and networks.

  • Highlighting violations inflicted upon child laborers and to promote justice through fact finding and litigation.

  • Lobbying for review of legislation and policy on child labour and education.

  • Putting forth successful experiments as alternate strategies to eradicate child labour

  • Facilitating field research to feed into the programmes strategy of the CACL.
